- "Well let me speak on Doom Kitty's behalf - she is the most important thing in the world to me. We really connect on a friendship level. Problem is - she's not always easy to understand - she seems to have a sixth sense about things and tries to communicate them with elaborate 'mime' but we don't always understand her. It has to be frustrating. What's that, Doom? Hungry? Tired? Too noisy? You like my socks?"
- — Doom's description on rubygloom.com
Doom Kitty is one of the deuteragonists of the Ruby Gloom franchise, serving as the title-character's pet cat.
Doom has a complete free run of the mansion and is therefore usually the only one with total knowledge of what is going on in any given area of the house. This keeps her one step ahead of Ruby and the others most of the time, because whenever something strange happens in the mansion, Doom will usually have all the facts already while everyone else is still trying to figure things out. Since Doom can't talk, her only hope of communicating with the others is through charades, with violin sounds accompanying each of her motions. Ruby is the only one who routinely understands what Doom is trying to say. The others struggle to decipher her body language.
Physical appearance[]
Doom Kitty is a black cat with contrasting white eyelashes and a white nose, and a long, skinny tail she can bend in many shapes. She wears a red ribbon around her neck along with a little gold key with a heart-shaped hole.
Personality[]
Doom is playful, clever, snarky, and helpful. She also loves Ruby dearly.
Episode appearances[]
Doom Kitty appears in 39 of the 40 episodes. She is absent in "Sunny Daze."
