So, It kinda drives me crazy, wondering what the character's origin stories are. Including Doom Kitty's. In fact, I wrote what her origin story might be like, and wrote it to look like she told it. Here it is:
"Everyone thinks I am just an ordinary black cat with clever wit and a caring heart who belongs to the happiest girl in the world. But...I am not all that. Before I was a pet, I was simply...a nightmarish entity. Over 500 years ago, there was a race of horrific mythical creatures called the Shadow Demons. Born from the subconscious minds of the dead, the Shadow Demons are evil, nightmarish entities that go down to Earth in the middle of the night and use their dark magic to corrupt people's sweet, innocent, caring dreams with terrifying manifestations of their worst fears, subjecting them to a good night sleep's worth of torment, suffering, fear, misery...and evil. Wherever the Shadow Demons go, terror always follows. They are worshipped by their ruthless and monstrous leader, The Shadow Lord, who always takes pride in the suffering of others and feeds on their fear to fuel his power. However, his lust for power can always have unintended consequences. Once a year, he has his followers abduct miserable people or animals that were treated unfairly, and infuses their souls with a bit of his magic, turning them into more of his crazed followers. I...was one of them. 45 years ago, I used to be an ordinary cat before I met him. I was...unloved. Unnamed. Unwanted. Mistreated. Miserable. The Shadow Lord took advantage of this and used his power to turn me into one of his most deadliest creations that he had ever seen. And since that day, I have been feasting on the fears and misery of innocent people, tormenting people with a fate worse than death. I enjoyed it a lot at first, but then, in 2004, The Shadow Lord had me sent down to Gloomsville, as he saw it as the most miserable place on the planet. But...that wasn't technically the case, since most of the people down there weren't so miserable. And I tried to do my job, which is haunting them unmercifully, but...sadly, none of them were scared. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get one terrified scream out of them. This place is so full of scary things it was really hard to make them feel afraid. I eventually gave up...and was about to head back to the Nightmare realm...when I saw...her. Ruby Gloom. The happiest girl in the world. Or...not yet, at least. I felt the fear in her soul as I saw her on the sidewalk, sobbing and her face full of sadness. I did intend on tormenting her at first, but then I noticed that the only reason she was so sad was because she was so miserable. She didn't have any friends and a lot of people picked on her because of her love for scary and gothic things. And because her parents mysteriously disappeared when she was a baby. It reminded me of how miserable I used to be before I met the Shadow Lord. And I thought to myself "What good would be tormenting a sweet little girl that is just as miserable as me?" So, I made the decision to comfort her and...befriend her. And so, her heart was filled with...warmness. As was mine. She asked me what my name is, but I didn't really have a name. Though, The Shadow Lord liked to call me "his adorable little Doom Kitty" and I told Ruby that's what my name is. She asked me if I wanted to play with her, and I oddly accepted her offer. Playing with Ruby felt very strange at first, as I did not understand or had any compassion, but after 2 months of playing with her, befriending her and being kind to her, I finally knew what compassion and love really felt like and Ruby softened my hardened heart. And I became more than her friend. I became...her family. We were so happy together. This, however, made the Shadow Lord very angry, as he saw my humanity and newfound caring demeanor as a weakness and an obstacle in my job. I told him that I don't think it is really right to have to terrorize people who are already miserable enough. In fact, it's not right to terrorize anyone at all. The Shadow Lord responded by attempting to destroy me, Ruby and all of Gloomsville, unleashing terror and chaos onto the town and its citizens. It felt like nobody could stop him. Nobody...except me. I used a magical ancient book to strip The Shadow Lord of his powers and imprisoned him inside the book...before closing and locking it, thus ending 500 years of evil and suffering. Knowing that nobody else must find and release The Shadow Lord, Ruby and I buried the magic book in a place so secretive and uncharted, that we had to wipe our own memories of where it is to make sure none of the Shadow Lord's followers make us help them find it. And since that day, everything's changed. The denizens of the nightmare realm became obscure and obsolete without their leader and I purged myself of all darkness and evil. And from then on, me and Ruby continued to be best friends to this very day, having a lot of misadventures that we could ever possibly think of."
